Rust can effectively be tackled by blasting.
- Descaling
- Removing Rust
- Sweep Blasting
There are many different options for blasting based on object, location and degree of damage. Jobs requiring utmost precision and detail are carried out in the plaster compartment. With the use of different abrasives and grain sizes both small parts and large apparatuses up to 20,000 kg can be individually cleaned and de-rusted.
Sweep-blasting in preparation for duplex coating of galvanized parts is also a common use-case for this application. The applied technology also enables efficient processing of vehicle superstructures, bodies, thin-walled constructions, plates, and many other parts. The preferred blasting materials used are mainly chilled iron grit and steel grit. Stainless steel and aluminum parts are finished with glass beads, ceramic balls and white fused alumina.
The surface treatment is done to provide the proper adhesion for subsequent coatings or to achieve optically good appearance. It is important that the roughness remains low and distortion of the often-delicate parts is prevented. This is made possible using different grain sizes well-coordinated with the air pressure.
